Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park

Photo above: The Battle of Chickamauga painting by Kurz and Allison, 1890. Photos courtesy Library of Congress. Chickamauga and Chattanooga is one of other parks around for the entire 100 years since the NPS founding date of August 25, 1916. On that date, it was part of the War Department, then transferred to the National Park Service in 1933. Right: Just one spectacular scene from Yellowstone National Park, the oldest National Park.
