Glaicer National Park has a number of 2016 events on the calendar that they consider part of the National Park Service's 100th Anniversary celebrations. Stop back for more info when more events become available.
Changing Balance/Balancing Change Dance Performance
Date/Time: July 24, 25; 8:30 p.m., July 27, 8:00 p.m.
Location: July 24 and 25: Lake McDonald Lodge Auditorium, July 27: West Glacier Community Building.
Event: This active audiences performance provides an immersive arts experience using dance, music, and narration. Changing Balance weaves together multiple voices and perspectives, to explore scientific and emotional facets of the emerging realities of climate change and it's effects on Glacier National Park and the surrounding area. The hour-long, family-friendly performance is designed for all ages, and provides vocabulary and a context for asking questions and engaging in productive conversations.
Huna Tribal House Grand Opening
Date/Time: August 25, Time TBD.
Location: Bartlett Cove.
Event: Celebrate the completion of the Huna Tribal House in Glacier Bay. This long-awaited day will highlight the Huna Tlingit and their re-connection to Glacier Bay homeland. It is also the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service.
