Abraham Lincoln Birthplace 100th Events
Abraham Lincoln Birthplace NHP will be finalizing their 2016 events soon. For now, there are a few 2016 events on the calendar that may be considered part of the National Park Service's 100th Anniversary celebrations. Stop back for more info on time and place when they become available.
2016 Events
Centennial of the Park
Date/Time: July 16-17, Various.
Location: Abraham Lincoln Birthplace NHP.
Event: The park will host a weekend event to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the park's existence. Living historians portraying four Presidents - Theodore Roosevelt, William H. Taft, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Dwight D. Eisenhower - who visited the park in the past as well as Abraham Lincoln and Lincoln Farm Association Board member Samuel Clemens will be in attendance. Events will be held throughout the weekend with the main event being held on Saturday, July 16 at 1:00 P.M. EDT.
Centennial of the National Park Service
Date/Time: August 27-28, Various
Location: Abraham Lincoln Birthplace NHP.
Event: The park will host an event to observe the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service. Living historian portraying President Woodrow Wilson, who signed the Organic Act that created the National Park Service, and the park's Enabling Legislation will be on hand to meet and talk with visitors. A re-enactment of the signing of the park's Enabling Legislation and Organic Act will be held beginning at 2:00 P.M. EDT.
